Trust the process

Image
In life, there's a process for everything. There's nothing that doesn't have its own process. Before you eat fried rice, it must have undergone a certain process. Likewise before people can call an individual a success, he/she must have gone through some processes. The process differs, it might be slow, fast, stressful, easy or painful. Take for instance the case of students preparing for an examination. Some wake up in the midnight to read while some read during the day; A may have to read a page for two hours before he can assimilate while B just need to have an idea of the topic and he will understand it. The overall aim of all students is to succeed but the processes are not the same. It's a different process for each individual. This is the case in life's journey. We all want to be a success but we have to understand the fact that the processes are different. You have to trust your own particular process. You don't have to worry coz your process seems to...

Meekness is not weakness

Image
During the Revolutionary War at Valley Forge, a corporal was directing three men as they tried to lift a log into place. It was too heavy but the corporal commanded again and again, "All right, men, one, two, three, lift!" A man in an overcoat came by and said to the corporal, 'why don't you help them?' The corporal pulled himself into full height and replied, "Sir, I am a corporal." Without a word, the man stepped over and with his help the log went easily into place. The man was George Washington, the Commander in Chief of the armed Forces. That was a extraordinary display of meekness. To be meek means to be humble, modest, submissive. It means not to be arrogant. Meekness is a virtue that everyone needs to possess. That you are meek doesn't mean you are weak, it is a strength of character. Meekness is opposed to violence, conflicts and anger. Meekness will make you have a gentle disposition. It will help you keep your cool even when you are bei...

Valuing relationships

Image
No one was created to be an island, we were all created to be interdependent and lift each other up. Human relationships is one of life's greatest gift and should be valued, we shouldn't treat them with levity. The people we come in contact with each day- family members, friends, relatives, coworkers, acquaintance, neighbours all have a part to play in our lives. They help to define us and they are an important part of our identity. We should not discriminate in our relationship with people, everyone should be treated equally because we never can tell the individual that will lift us up. That individual you see as inferior to you today may later help you or might even know someone that will be of immense assistance to you, this is why all relationships either great or little should be valued. The fact that you have new friends now doesn't mean you should forget the old ones. Yes, I know that twenty children cannot be together for twenty years but this isn't enough re...

You can still win

Image
That you have failed many times doesn't mean you are a failure, you can still win. That your mates scorn and despise you now doesn't mean you'll always be a laughing stock, you can still win. The fact that you aren't up yet doesn't mean you'll stay down forever, you can still win. That all seem cloudy now isn't a guarantee that it won't shine brightly again, you can still win. That your peers are far ahead of you doesn't mean that you'll always be behind, you can still win. The fact that you don't have enough now doesn't mean you'll always lack, you can still win. That there's nothing good to laugh about in your life right now doesn't mean you'll be sad forever, you can still win. That your grades are far below what you've always wanted doesn't mean you can't make it, you can still win. That you ask people for almost everything you need today doesn't mean that you will beg tomorrow, you can still wi...

His ways are not your ways

Image
Sometimes even though we work hard and pray hard, the opposite of what we desire is what we get. In times like these we feel disappointed and heartbroken with thoughts that God doesn't answer prayer. I'm here to tell you this morning that he does, he answers prayer no matter how long it may take. You may often feel that what you've already figured out in your mind is the best for you but God gives you the opposite coz he sees the end from the beginning and he knows exactly what is best for you. If you would just surrender to his Lordship, you will see that he has the best things in mind for you. The fact that things doesn't work out the way you've planned doesn't mean that you won't eventually get to your final destination. It may take long but you'll still get there. The journey might seem rough and challenging but it's certain that you'll get there. You don't have to worry about how long it will take coz the Master has a master plan in m...
