  She had not really enjoyed her marriage when she lost her husband to the cold hands of death. Her dreams of seeing her grandchildren was shattered as she didn't even have any child to carry on her husband's name. Her mother in-law was also bereaved of her husband and two sons and she had to go back to her home town.   The young woman's world crumbled down when her mother in-law told her to go back to her parents. Braving challenges or standing up for your strongly held beliefs all alone are situations you will find yourself in at some point in your life. As humans, we tend to find comfort in groups and being alone on a decision is something we shy away from. The Holy Book says "but Daniel determined in his heart that he would not defile himself with the King's rich and dainty food..." From the above text, it can be seen that this guy determined his stand on his own. He didn't seek the opinions of others before he made that decision. He didn't fear to voice out his opinion neither did he mind standing alone. I think this young man's attitude is worthy of emulation. Her people were about to be wiped off the surface of the earth and even though she was the queen, she couldn't go to the king to tell him of their predicament except he summoned her. She was in a serious dilemma and had just two options-- one was to watch the enemy kill her people and the other was to risk seeing the king without being summoned which could attract death as a punishment.
