What If?
WHAT IF???
What if I fail🤔?
What if she dies?
What if he breaks my heart?
What if I don't get food to eat?
What if I don't get it right🤦🏻?
What if I don't get married?
What if this, what if that, what if, what if...
Some people spend most of their time thinking about negative things that doesn't eventually happen. Instead of having faith and focus on the bright side of life; they let the vicissitude of life affect them, thereby ending up bring miserable and pathetic.
What these set of people fail to understand is that most, if not all, of our 'what ifs' never happen... They just waste precious time fidgeting, worrying and being anxious🤔.
The Good Book says it all by admonishing us to "take no thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself coz sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof".
Things would be more better if we can live one day @ a time without worrying about 5 or 10 years to come. Now, I'm not saying that we shouldn't plan our lives; but there's a very clear difference between planning and worrying.
Planning our lives helps us to achieve set goals and objectives while worrying saps today of its joy and happiness... Worrying is a continuous process, it keeps creeping into every other days once it's started; so it is better not to worry @ all...
And why should we even bother ourselves by worrying when our creator says we should 'cast all our cares (worries/anxieties/fear of the future) upon Him, for He cares about/for us'.
The creator of the whole universe is concerned about us; He has been concerned about us even before our inception, so there's absolutely nothing to worry about...
Next time these 'what ifs' start coming up in our hearts, let's remember that our creator is "able to do exceeding abundantly more than we are able to ask or think of
Most 'what ifs' never happen, keep your mind @ rest.
Shalom!!!
