Talent is not enough

One of the ways to succeed in life is to be talented. If you are talented, it will open doors of opportunities for you thereby making you succeed faster. But you will agree with me that to succeed in life, you need more than talent. If talent is all you need then why have all the talented people not succeeded? We have talented and educated derelicts who have not been able to use their talent and education to better their lot. There are so many talented people roaming the streets who have not been able to achieve anything for themselves.
It's not all about the talent, it's about the hard work you combine with your talent. You can't afford to be lazy just because you think your talent will pave way for you. You have to learn skills that align with your talent,  develop yourself and work hard.
Your talent only makes sense when you combine it with the needed skills and hard work. Being talented is an added advantage when it is combined with hard work.
One of the greatest tragedies is to see a talent die undeveloped.
You have the potential to excel. You may be talented but don't settle for talent alone. Add to your talent- vision, to your vision- diligence, to your diligence- intention, to your intention- discipline, and to your discipline- hard work.
Hard work beats talent when talent refuses to work hard.
