Valuing relationships

No one was created to be an island, we were all created to be interdependent and lift each other up. Human relationships is one of life's greatest gift and should be valued, we shouldn't treat them with levity. The people we come in contact with each day- family members, friends, relatives, coworkers, acquaintance, neighbours all have a part to play in our lives. They help to define us and they are an important part of our identity.
We should not discriminate in our relationship with people, everyone should be treated equally because we never can tell the individual that will lift us up.
That individual you see as inferior to you today may later help you or might even know someone that will be of immense assistance to you, this is why all relationships either great or little should be valued.
The fact that you have new friends now doesn't mean you should forget the old ones. Yes, I know that twenty children cannot be together for twenty years but this isn't enough reason to desert old relationships. We would all grow up and meet new people but we should always remember that there were days when these old friends had our backs, they went out of their ways to help and make us happy; I think this should be enough reason for us to value these old relationships.
I know that you can't keep in touch with every tom, dick and harry but all I'm saying is that you should value your relationships with others -either new or old.
Valuing your relationships means respecting those you relate with each day. It means that you won't do to others what you don't want them to do to you. It means apologising when you are wrong, it sometimes mean taking time out of your busy schedule to say hello. It entails loyalty, honesty, communication and never forgetting past assistance rendered.
Remember: if you would be loved, you have to love and be lovable...

Shalom!!!
