Pay a price for that prize
There's this biblical verse that always motivate me, it says: "do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may lay hold of the prize and make it yours."
In anywhere we find ourselves in life, there's always a race, people are always competing for one prize/position or the other. Be it in the school or in our work place, everyone wants to be the best or be among the best. Either by hard work or crooked means, someone will eventually emerge as the winner.
To be regarded as a winner doesn't come on a platter of gold, you have to strive for it and let go of every distractions that might want to hinder you. That you were not born with a silver spoon isn't enough reason why that prize can't be yours, you just have to strive for it. When I say strive, I mean you have to pay the price of diligence, persistence, consistency, perseverance and optimism to get that prize.
Look at whatever fear that is clouding your mind in the face and have the mindset that the prize can be all yours.
Just keep running that 'race' and even when you find an excuse to stop, don't stop because there are many others in a competition with you.
The journey might be rough, just continue. Tackle any difficulty now, the longer you wait the bigger it grows. Remember that you have a prize awaiting you but you have to pay a price (of hard work or denying yourself some rest now) to get the prize.
The journey might not be rosy, it may become crooked and rough. You will get tired but that doesn't mean you should stop. You can take a rest, but don't you ever stop moving.
Don't wait, start now. If you wait too long, that opportunity will have passed away before you make up your mind.
Remember: the race is not always to the swift but to those who keep on running.
Shalom!!!
